We had a serious slab leak in our home that caused water to pool up on the floor near our kitchen side door. John came out with his nephew and was able to diagnose the issue in a matter of minutes. He gave us two options: 1 was to jackhammer down into the concrete and fix the portion of the pipe that was broken or 2 repipe the whole house with copper on the outside and US made PEX throughout the house. Given that the pipe maybe break elsewhere in the future under the slab, we opted for repiping the whole house. John was able to give us a fair price that included repiping and patching of drywall/stucco. He also agreed to help me install a laundry box and dedicated line for refrigerator/ice maker. On the day of repiping, a team of five technicians came out and professionally sectioned off the house with floor covers and plastic drapes to reduce the mess. John also came out to discuss the process with me and manage the team. It took the team from 8:30am to roughly 2:15pm to finish the whole process. The end result was amazing. Overnight, I noticed the floor was getting drier as there was no longer an underground leak. As I’m waiting for the drywall/stucco professional to come patch the house, here are some pictures of the work done. Overall, John Shim and his team were very professional and reassuring throughout the whole project. They even helped changed my shower valve in the guest bathroom from a three knob to single lever. We had contacted four other companies and none were as honest as SJ Plumbing . Thanks to John and his team for an amazing job.

SJ Plumbing gave an estimate and were ready to work the next day. They were prompt the next morning. Got the job done and all at a reasonable price. The plumbing that needed to be replaced was under the foundation of the house. The yard was returned the way they found it. Very clean, professional and straightforward. 10 out of 10

So let me give a little backstory. I had a plumbing inspection done by another company. It was part of an annual HVAC contract. They said my fixtures and shut off valves looked good. They looked at my copper pipes and I had a very very slow drip from one of the pipes to our bathtub. They said at a minimum my bathroom would need to be redone in PEX. They also said that my drains would need to be redone because they are cast iron and the home was built in 1953. They said I could repipe the whole house in PEX, because once corrosion starts it doesn’t stop. I decided to get a second opinion from SJ Plumbing and they said my pipes are good and that they would just need to replace that section that was dripping. They said my drains look good and are already ABS. The only thing is that my drains underground are still cast iron and if I get a clog, the underground drains might need to be replaced. They fixed my pipe that was dripping and that was it. I talked to John, the owner, on the phone and in person and he was honest and didn’t understand why the other company would try to sell me on replacing everything, when the fix was so minor. John is super nice and friendly. His project manager Juan was also very nice. I will definitely use them in the future for our plumbing needs.
